Join our Butterfly Team for National Rainbow Baby Day

Friday 22 August from 1pm to 3pm

Families from across Warrington and Halton are invited to attend a special event in recognition of National Rainbow Baby Day 2025.

The event, hosted by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals’ Butterfly Team, will take place on Friday 22 August from 1pm to 3pm at Mini Mania Play Zone, located in the Bridge Shopping Centre, Warrington.

National Rainbow Baby Day celebrates the lives of babies born following pregnancy or baby loss. Referred to as ‘rainbow babies’, these represent light and hope after pregnancy loss. The day provides an opportunity for families to come together in recognition and support.

The Butterfly Team are asking rainbow families to join them for an afternoon of play, connection and reflection. The venue includes a sensory room, sand pit, ball pool and themed activities for babies and young children.

If you already have little ones, please do bring them along – there is plenty of space! Siblings aged four and under are welcome to join in the play; some activities may be limited for older siblings due to safety considerations.

The WHH Butterfly Team will be on hand to offer support and information, along with other local organisations.

The event will also support fundraising for the Willow Tree Hub – a dedicated space being developed at Warrington Hospital to provide comfort, privacy and specialist care for families experiencing the loss of a baby. Led by WHH Charity, the appeal aims to raise £200,000 to bring the space to life. A raffle will be held on the day to help contribute to the fundraising efforts.

If you’d like to attend, please email whh.butterfly.team@nhs.net to reserve your place in advance.
