Making a difference in our hospitals
WHH Charity has a long heritage in Warrington, Halton and the surrounding areas.
With your help we have been able to create remembrance and therapy gardens, build a new children’s play area, construct a sanctuary hub to improve staff mental health and wellbeing, introduce activity tables for dementia patients, gaming stations for the Children’s Ward, foldaway beds for overnight patients, special cots to support bereaved families, and much more.
We go above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide.
How you’ve helped
Thanks to your generosity, we are creating a lasting impact.
Here are just a few ways your donations have made a difference for our patients, families, carers and staff:

Making a difference together: Laurence’s story
Laurence has long supported WHH Charity but in 2021 experienced care from frontline staff. Now he’s helping others recover.

Appeal enhances care for young patients
The Making Waves Appeal has raised an incredible £55,000, helping to create a more comforting and engaging environment for young patients.

Supporting our staff and brightening environments
Our dedicated teams work tirelessly to look after patients and their families – often in difficult circumstances. So it’s only right that we’re there for them too.

Free meals for parents of children receiving care
WHH has introduced a new scheme offering free meals to parents staying in hospital with their sick child on the Children’s Ward.

Primary school knitting club keeps newborn babies warm
Bewsey Lodge Primary School pupils have been working hard to keep newborn babies on the Neonatal Unit warm as part of their after-school activities.

A decade of support for hospital patients living with dementia
Warrington Hospital’s Forget Me Not Unit provides dedicated care for those with dementia. We reflect on a decade of unwavering support for patients and their families.
